All-Way Stops Coming to Orange Co. Neighborhood

CHAPEL HILL – In response to safety concerns, the N.C. Department of Transportation will install a pair of all-way stops in a Chapel Hill neighborhood this week.

Residents of the Northwood subdivision requested NCDOT investigate the speed limit and other traffic related issues along Northwood Drive, near the N.C. 86 interchange with Interstate 40.

After investigating the concerns, NCDOT officials decided to install all-way stop traffic management systems at the Northwood Drive intersections with Hunter Hill Road and Autumn Lane.

The installation is scheduled to take place Thursday, weather permitting. Drivers should slow down and be mindful of crews working in the area while the new signage is installed.
