Public Comment Sought on Bridge Over Little River

SPARTA – The N.C. Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting to gather comments on a proposed project to replace a bridge on N.C. 21 over the Little River in Sparta.

The new bridge would be built to the northeast of the existing structure with a minor realizing of U.S. 21 due to a lack of adequate detour routes that could be used during construction.

The meeting will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the First Baptist Church of Spata, 2020 South Main Street.

Area residents may attend at any time as no formal presentation will be made. Maps of the proposed improvements will be presented and NCDOT staff will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

Project maps are available online on the NCDOT public meetings website

Contact NCDOT Project Engineer, Keith Paschal at kpaschal@ncdot.gov or 919-707-6481 for additional information. Comments will be accepted at the meeting or by email following the meeting but should be submitted by Dec. 6, 2019.
