I-73 Ramps in Guilford Co. to Close Overnight this Week

GREENSBORO – Several ramps to and from Interstate 73 in southwest Greensboro are scheduled to close overnight this week.

N.C. Department of Transportation contractors need to close the ramps to safely conduct concrete pavement repairs. The closures are planned from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the following days and locations:

  • Wednesday: Exit 120B, from I-85 North onto I-73 North. A signed detour will follow U.S. 29/70 North to the Holden Road exit, where drivers will return to U.S. 29/70 South to access I-73 North.
  • Friday: Exit 33, from U.S. 29/70 South onto I-73 North. Drivers will be detoured to Groometown Road to head back on U.S. 29/70 North to access I-73 North.
  • Saturday and possibly Sunday: Exit 95, from I-73 South onto I-73 South/U.S. 220 South. For the detour, drivers will keep straight to the South Elm-Eugene Street exit and follow I-85 South back to I-73 South.

All closures are weather dependent and will be rescheduled if rain or temperatures interfere.

Drivers should be mindful of crews working in these areas and allow extra time for the detours.
