MORRISVILLE — N.C. Department of Transportation contractors plan to close both directions of Interstate 40 at Aviation Parkway for several nights for bridge girder installation.
Weather permitting, crews will close I-40 overnight from Friday at midnight until Saturday at 5 a.m., Sunday from 1 a.m. until 7 a.m., and again Tuesday night from midnight until 5 a.m.

The detour will be very short as law enforcement will direct drivers up and down the on and off ramps at the Aviation Parkway interchange (Exit 285).
Motorists need to slow down and pay extra attention as they travel through the work zone.
