RALEIGH — Weekend work on the Capital Boulevard bridges project will require closure of the southbound lanes from Johnson Street to Lane Street from 9 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday.
This closure will allow the contractor to complete the installation of sanitary lines beneath the roadway.
Southbound drivers will be detoured from southbound Capital Boulevard onto Johnson Street, then south on Harrington Street to Jones Street.
Beginning Saturday at 6 a.m., the left two lanes of northbound Capital Boulevard between Lane Street and Wade Avenue will be closed to allow the contractor to continue the construction of the curb and gutter for the grass median and to finish removing and replacing pavement at the south end of the project. This closure will be in place until Monday at 6 a.m.
Both closures are weather-dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should pay extra attention while driving through the work zone and allow extra time to navigate the detour route.
