CHARLOTTE – Contractors with the N.C. Department of Transportation will be resurfacing lanes on Interstate 485 in north Charlotte tonight as part of a $10.8 million contract awarded last fall. Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday.
On the inner loop, crews will close the two left lanes between exits 32 and 33 for bridge work.
The right two lanes will be also closed on the outer loop between exits 33 and 36 for paving work.
Lane closures will continue to be scheduled as work advances and as weather permits. Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
