Public Meeting on Proposed Rail Crossing Improvement in Guilford County

GREENSBORO – The public is invited to review proposed improvements to a Guilford County railroad crossing at a meeting set for this week.

The N.C. Department of Transportation is proposing a grade separation where Hilltop Road crosses the Norfolk Southern main line in southwest Greensboro. Constructing a bridge over the railroad tracks will make the location safer for trains and vehicles.

Maps of the proposed plans and other information can be found on the project webpage.

Project representatives will also present maps and be able to discuss the project during the meeting set for Thursday, July 18, from 5-7 p.m. at Korean United Methodist Church located at 2504 E. Woodlyn Way in Greensboro.

People can drop by anytime during the hours of the open house-style meeting to offer input that will be considered as the project progresses. Comments may also be submitted by phone or email by Aug. 18.

To submit comments or for more information on the project, contact Senior Rail Project Development Engineer Gregory Blakeney at 919-707-4717 or hilltop-road-rail-crossing@publicinput.com.
