RALEIGH – The Washington License Plate Agency in Beaufort County will close today at 5 p.m.
A new owner/operator has been identified and the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is working with the owner to facilitate reopening the agency as soon as possible.
The agency, at 127 N. Market St., will close at 5 p.m. Friday. The current contractor, Jesse T. Rawls, Jr., said he did not wish to continue operating the agency.
Services such as property tax payments and registration renewals can be completed online at www.MyNCDMV.gov.
If a customer needs to visit an LPA during the closure, the three closest offices offering service Monday through Friday are:

LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license
plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations. Currently, 127 license plate
agencies operate across North Carolina.
