CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will continue a $16.3 million project to improve 22 bridges on Interstate 277 next week, focusing on the Outer Loop between East Fourth and East Tenth Streets.
Setting up the work zone will require lane closures, starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 28. The contractor will shift traffic to the left lane to pave the right shoulders. When that phase is complete, the two left lanes will be closed to continue improvements on the bridges at East Third Street, East Fourth Street and Elizabeth Avenue.
This temporary traffic pattern will be in place by 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 29. The contractor will work in this area for about two weeks.
