Wade Ave. Ramp to Capital Blvd. South Closing for Part of the Weekend

RALEIGH – As work continues on the Capital Boulevard bridge replacements project, the contractor will be closing the Wade Avenue ramp to southbound Capital Boulevard for part of this weekend.

If the weather cooperates, the ramp will be closed at 11 p.m. tonight (May 10) but should reopen sometime late Saturday afternoon.

The same short quarter-mile detour route that was used when the ramp was closed previously while the new Wade Avenue bridge over Capital Boulevard was being built will be in place again. As drivers start toward the ramp, they will be diverted to a right turn on North West Street, and then left on Dortch Street to get back to Capital Boulevard.

Although the new Wade Avenue ramp bridge and the new Capital Boulevard bridge over Peace Street are both open, significant work on the project remains and is expected to continue into the fall.
