NCDOT Seeks Public Input on Broad Street Connector Project in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM – Residents will have the opportunity this week to review and offer input on proposed plans to tie Broad Street to the Business 40 improvements project.

The N.C. Department of Transportation has identified a need for a connector road using Peters Creek Parkway to tie Broad Street to the Business 40 improvements project under construction near the BB&T Ballpark.

The proposed connector road would create more efficient street connections that help manage future traffic volumes on streets around Broad Street, which will no longer have direct access to Business 40.

More information, including maps of options for the Broad Street connector, can be found on the NCDOT public meeting webpage.

The public meeting is set for April 11 from 4-6 p.m. in the Centenary United Methodist Church auditorium at 646 W. Fifth St. in Winston-Salem. It is an open house-style meeting with no formal presentation.

Residents may stop by any time during the meeting hours to speak with project representatives and share their views, which will be taken into consideration as the project develops.

Comments may also be submitted by phone or email by May 13. For more information, contact NCDOT Project Engineer Connie James at 336-747-7800 or ckjames1@ncdot.gov, or consultant Project Manager Alison Nichols at 704-940-4725 or alison.nichols@rsandh.com.
