EDEN – The public is invited to a meeting this week in Rockingham County to review and offer feedback on proposed improvements to the junction of U.S. 311/N.C. 14 (South Van Buren Road) and Kings Highway.
The N.C. Department of Transportation is evaluating multiple intersection designs as well as an option to convert the existing intersection in Eden into an interchange.
The goal is to address traffic flow and operational deficiencies and to help prepare the intersection to handle more traffic as growth occurs in the surrounding area.
More information, including maps of several options for the proposed interchange, can be found on the NCDOT public meeting webpage.
The meeting is Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Eden Town Hall, 308 E. Stadium Drive.
It is an open house-style format with no formal presentation. People can stop by any time during the meeting hours to ask questions of project representatives and provide feedback that will be considered as the project moves forward.
