CLEMMONS – Drivers can expect nighttime lane closures over the next year and a half while the N.C. Department of Transportation performs maintenance work along a stretch of Interstate 40 in Forsyth County.
NCDOT plans to rehabilitate pavement on I-40 between the Harper Road and Stratford Road exits and install one mile of new concrete median barrier wall between Harper and Kinnamon roads. The work begins Monday and is scheduled to be complete by October 2020.
The project allows lane closures from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. in both directions of I-40 between Harper Road and the junction with U.S. 421 and Business 40 in southwest Winston-Salem. It will begin with the section between Harper and Kinnamon roads.
Drivers are urged to use caution throughout the work area at all hours of the day. Daytime work may occur within the median.
