HILLSBOROUGH — Roadway improvement projects proposed for Orange County are up for a second round of public input next week.
The projects would widen South Churton Street from Interstate 40 north to Orange Grove Road and extend Orange Grove Road from South Churton to U.S. 70 Alternate in Hillsborough.
More information about the work, including area maps, are available on the projects' public meeting webpage.
The public meeting is set for Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 4-7 p.m. in the board meeting room at the Hillsborough Town Hall Annex building, located at 105 E. Corbin St. Feedback from a public meeting in March resulted in project leaders eliminating two options for the Orange Grove Road extension and revising a third option, originally presented as Alternative 2. A map of the revised option, now called Alternative 4, will be at the public meeting next week.
N.C. Department of Transportation representatives will be present to answer questions and hear public comments that will be considered as the proposed projects develop. Comments can also be submitted by phone, email or mail by Jan. 25.
