Upcoming Meeting for Road Improvements in Marion

ASHEVILLE — The N.C. Department of Transportation invites the public to a public meeting on Jan. 23, regarding the proposed widening of U.S. 221 Business between U.S. 221/N.C. 226 and Georgia Avenue in Marion.

The proposed work involves improving U.S. 221 to provide three lanes with curb and gutter, which will increase safety and improve traffic flow along the corridor.  

The drop-in meeting will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the Marion Community Building, 191 N. Main St. NCDOT officials and representatives from the consulting company will be available to answer questions and receive comments.

All comments received will be taken into consideration as the project develops.

Maps showing the location and design of the proposed project will be displayed at the meeting and are available at www.NCDOT.gov/Projects/Public meetings.
