Public Meetings are Scheduled for Proposed Improvements to U.S. 21 in Mecklenburg County

Charlotte - The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold combined public meetings this month for two proposed projects to widen U.S. 21 (Statesville Road) between Gilead Road and Holly Point Drive, and between Northcross Center Court and Westmoreland Road in Huntersville and Cornelius.

The meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Thursday, April 12
    4 to 7 p.m.
    Cornelius Town Hall
    21445 Catawba Avenue
  • Thursday, April 19
    4 to 7 p.m.
    Huntersville Town Hall
    101 Huntersville-Concord Road 

The public may attend either or both meetings at any time to meet with NCDOT representatives and submit comments. No formal presentation will be made at either meeting.

Comments can also be submitted by phone, email or mail through May 4. Contact Beverly Robinson, NCDOT Project Development Engineer, to submit those comments or for more information at 1582 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C., 27699-1582, (919) 707-6041 or brobinson@ncdot.gov.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in this meeting. Anyone requiring special services should contact Caitlyn Ridge at ceridge1@ncdot.gov or (919) 707-6091 as early as possible so that arrangements can be made. 

Persons who speak Spanish and have a limited ability to read, speak or understand English may receive interpretive services upon request prior to the meeting by calling 1-800-481-6494.
