HILLSBOROUGH – N.C. Department of
Transportation maintenance crews must close alternating lanes along Orange Grove Road where it crosses Interstate 40 in Hillsborough
while workers install a chain-link fence on the existing bridge.
“Installing a fence will further enhance safety for pedestrians
along Orange Grove Road, and for motorists traveling underneath it along I-40,”
said NCDOT Assistant Resident Engineer John Williams.
Crews will close alternating lanes overnight starting at 8 p.m. on
Wednesday, Feb. 21. The lanes will reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28,
weather permitting.
Transportation officials advise
drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the
posted speed limit.
