ANSONVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation is temporarily closing a bridge on Jacks Branch Road over Permetter Branch, west of U.S. 52 near Ansonville. Engineers inspected the bridge earlier today and determined repairs were needed to a wooden joist, or beam, that supports the bridge deck.
About 150 vehicles use the bridge each day, so a detour is not required to be installed. The department is installing barricades to alert motorists of the closure. Repairs will get underway tomorrow and continue into next week, if needed.
