NCDOT Office of Civil Rights Hosts Contract Training for Minority-Owned Businesses

​​​​The N.C. Department of Transportation Office of Civil Rights​ will host three outreach workshops to assist minority-owned businesses with bidding and construction cost estimate contracts.

Workshop attendees will learn about: 

• General risks in construction and importance to set up accounting practices
  
• Understanding the structure of an estimate for bidding purposes
• How to incorporate business costs into an estimate for profitable bidding
• Determining the cost of a crew (truck and driver)
• Determining hauling costs (per hour, per ton, per cubic yards)
• Putting the estimate and bid together
