Mandated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the N.C. Department of Transportation's Unified Certification Program provides "one-stop shopping" for businesses applying to be certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.
An applicant only has to apply once for the application to be honored by all agencies in North Carolina that are recipients of aviation, transit and highway projects that are federally funded.
NCDOT's Certification Unit certifies eligible firms as Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as well as Minority Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises and/or Small Professional Services Firms.
