The N.C. Department of Transportation is monitoring Hurricane Florence and its effects on North Carolina and is responding as quickly as possible, as needed.
Road Conditions & Flooding
State transportation officials recommend motorists to use caution while traveling in portions of southeastern North Carolina that are still affected by Hurricane Florence.
NCDOT is making progress on reducing the number of road closures, which statewide totaled to 129 Wednesday morning, Oct. 3. Major routes, including I-40 to Wilmington, U.S. 70 in Kinston, U.S. 74 from I-95 to Wilmington and I-95 in North Carolina have reopened.
Although water has receded on some roads and bridges that have been closed, NCDOT must still inspect them and make any necessary repairs before reopening them.
Obey all road closure signs and do not for any reason go around or move barricades.
If a road is closed, it is closed for a reason.
Please note: 911 and *HP are for emergencies and should not be used to seek information about road conditions and closures.
