The N.C Department of Transportation’s feasibility study for N.C. 168 in Currituck County proposes to improve 4.7 miles of the roadway by widening it to four lanes and reduced conflict intersection​. These improvements would be from Guinea Road to North Point Boulevard to the Virginia state line.
The study also recommends the building of a 17.5-foot raised median and a sidewalk on the west side.
