Preliminary designs involve converting 15th Street to a four-lane roadway divided by a raised median that will allow for left turns at median breaks.
The proposed typical section along the corridor includes:
- Four 11-foot wide travel lanes
- 17.5-foot wide concrete median
- Curb and gutter
- 5-foot sidewalk on the north side of 15th Street
- ​10-foot multi-use path on the south side of 15th Street
On 12th Street between 15th Street's end at East Brown Street, and the end of the project, at U.S. 264 this amenity is not included
Traffic will be maintained throughout construction using the phased construction approach. This approach minimizes disruptions and ensures continuous access for residents and businesses.
