Traffic Impact Scheduled on I-40 in Forsyth County

WINSTON SALEM – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will implement slow-rolling traffic impacts this Saturday on Interstate 40 east in Forsyth County for ongoing work related to the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway Project.

The slow rolling is necessary to pace traffic and allow work to be performed on an overhead bridge. Two separate slow-rolling operations will be required to complete the work.

The traffic impacts will occur between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. The operations will take place on I-40 East between I-74 East (Exit 196) and Union Cross Road (Exit 201). The slow-rolling operation will move through the work zone, allowing traffic congestion to clear before making another pass through the project area.

To avoid the work zone, drivers are encouraged to use U.S. 421 South (Salem Parkway).
Drivers should use caution and plan for delays due to slow-moving traffic.
