CHARLOTTE – A $3.8 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation will bring improvements to four sections of N.C. 115 and three sections of secondary roads in Mecklenburg County.
The contract includes milling, resurfacing, shoulder reconstruction, concrete curb ramps and driveways, pavement markings and markers to approximately nine miles throughout the county.
These sections of N.C. 115/Old Statesville Road are included in the project:
- Iredell County line to Cornelius Street
- Independence Hill Drive to Hambright Road
- Hambright Road to Damson Drive
- Solstice Way to Vance Davis Drive
Segments of Asbury Chapel Road, Riverside Drive and Washam Potts Road will also receive improvements.
The contractor, Blythe Brothers Asphalt Co., LLC, can start as early as mid-February and complete the project in summer 2026
