LEWISVILLE – Repairs on the Shallowford Road bridge over U.S. 421 are set to begin tomorrow, following a recent crash.
An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will initiate repairs with nighttime work. Lane closures on U.S. 421 will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. This schedule will continue throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to take several weeks.
Once the initial repairs are finished, NCDOT crews will evaluate the work and add extra support to the bridge if needed.
Motorists are advised to expect potential delays and exercise caution while traveling through the area.
The bridge has been closed since a crash on Dec. 6 for safety reasons.
