Greenville Intersection Requires Closure for Reconstruction

Editor's note: After this release went out today, the contractor informed NCDOT it would postpone this closure and reschedule it soon. NCDOT will announce later when it closes. Below is the original release.

GREENVILLE – An intersection near Uptown Greenville has temporarily closed as part of the ongoing improvements to Dickinson Avenue.

A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation closed Dickinson Avenue at 14th Street today to upgrade utilities, storm drainage systems and the traffic signal at this location.

The work is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete, depending on the weather. However, unexpected conflicts with utility lines buried underneath the road could delay this work.

While closed, drivers will be detoured to use Evans Street to Tenth Street.

People can learn more about the improvements along Dickinson Avenue on this NCDOT website. The work described above at this intersection is located between Sections 4 and 5A on the project timeline graphic.
