RALEIGH- Drivers across southern Wake County will soon see improvements to 19 miles of roadway, thanks to a $3 million contract the N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded.
The upgrades will include milling, resurfacing and shoulder reconstruction. The improvements will cover 84 sections of secondary roads across southern Wake County.
The work is expected to begin this spring, with final completion set for fall of 2026.
The project will enhance road surfaces, reduce maintenance needs, and improve roadside safety. Temporary lane closures and minor delays are expected, and drivers are encouraged to stay alert in work zones.
