Raleigh Road Improvements to Include New Bridge

RALEIGH — A $19.6 million award from the N.C. Department of Transportation to S.T. Wooten Corp. will bring safety upgrades and a new bridge to New Hope Church Road in Raleigh, as part of the S- Line Passenger Train project.

The project will add pedestrian accommodations, including bike lanes, along New Hope Church Road near St. Albans Drive. A new bridge will also be constructed to carry traffic over the railroad tracks.

Work is set to begin in January, with part of the new bridge expected to open by summer 2025. The entire project is slated to take three years to complete.
