New Huntersville Dealer Unit Ready to Serve Auto Dealers

ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ new Huntersville Dealer Unit office officially opened for business following a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday.  The new location at 12101 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd., at the NCDMV building in Huntersville, has become the second office in the state to serve the 7,550 licensed auto dealerships in North Carolina.  The other dealer unit is at the DMV Raleigh Central Services office on New Bern Ave. in Raleigh.

“With the opening of this new unit, many of our licensed dealerships in central and western North Carolina now have an office open which is geographically closer to their dealership location,” said NCDMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin. “With our state’s population growth and this agency’s focus on modernizing and improving DMV customer service, this new unit is good news for North Carolina.”

Commissioner Goodwin was joined at the ribbon cutting ceremony by N.C. Board of Transportation member Tony Lathrop, DMV Deputy Commissioner Tim Hayworth, License & Theft Director Col. Michael Oates, members of local and statewide dealership associations, and the N.C. State Highway Patrol.

The Huntersville Dealer Unit office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for state holidays, and will offer full services to licensed dealers statewide, including license applications and renewals, dealer plate insurance, and sales representative licensing.
