WINSTON SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will implement nightly lane closures starting tonight on a portion of Interstate 40 in Forsyth County for ongoing work as part of the Winston Salem Northern Beltway Project, weather permitting.
The left lane on I-40 westbound will close nightly tonight through Sunday night. The closure will begin near Union Cross Road and extend to Highpoint Road.
The closure will take place nightly at different times and are as follows:
- Thursday─ 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Friday─9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Saturday─ 7.p.m. to 9 a.m.
- Sunday ─8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
To avoid the work, drivers are encouraged to utilize U.S. 421 (Salem Parkway).
Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
