SWEPSONVILLE– N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close Darrell Newton Road Jan. 29, weather permitting.
Starting at 9 a.m. Monday, the road will be closed so crews can safely replace a pipe under the roadway. The work is anticipated to last through the end of March.
During the closure, a posted detour will utilize Geroge Bason Road, N.C. 54, and Main Street.
Drivers are encouraged to stay alert and use caution when nearing the work zone and following the detours.
