WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will be implementing ramp and lane closures on Interstate 40 for ongoing construction and maintenance projects, weather permitting.
The following closures are scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- Tonight, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from Peters Creek Parkway to west of U.S. 52.
- Tonight, the ramp from Silas Creek Parkway to I-40 East is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour directing motorists to Peters Creek Parkway to access I-40 East will be in place.
- On July 31 – Aug. 1, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from U.S. 52 to east of Hanes Mall Boulevard.
- On July 31 – Aug. 1, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Stratford Road to Peters Creek Parkway.
- On July 31 – Aug. 1, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from Clemmonsville Road to Willard Road.
- On July 31, the ramp from N.C. 109/Thomasville Road to I-40 East is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
Additionally, at 9 p.m. tonight, the left lane of I-40 East will be closed between High Point Road to Union Cross Road and is expected to reopen by 9 p.m. on July 31. Motorists are advised to use U.S. 421 South/Salem Parkway to avoid potential delays.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and plan accordingly for delays.
