RALEIGH – Dozens of Guilford County roads are being refreshed in the coming months thanks to a contract recently awarded by the State Transportation Department.
Crews will mill and resurface nearly 24 miles of roadway, including one section of U.S. 158 and 49 sections of secondary roads throughout the county. The work also includes roadway shoulder reconstruction.
Sharpe Brothers of Greensboro was awarded the $5.3 million contract. The work is expected to begin this month and is scheduled for completion in mid-November.
Drivers should expect this work to take place under lane closures and be mindful of the crews that will be working close to the travel lanes.
