ROCKINGHAM COUNTY – A local bridge replacement project that is expected to last several months is set to begin soon.
The bridge that carries Estes Road over Wolf Island Creek, northeast of Reidsville, has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced.
To conduct the work safely, crews plan to close this section of Estes Road from the morning of May 23 through mid-November.
During this time, traffic will be detoured along Oregon Hill Road, Worsham Mill Road and U.S 29 Business to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should be mindful of crews along Estes Road and factor the detour into their commutes.
