RALEIGH - The North Carolina Turnpike Authority is continuing construction of the southern portion of the Complete 540 project, which will extend the Triangle Expressway (Toll N.C. 540) from N.C. 55 Bypass to Interstate 40.
On Tuesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 14 contractors for the project have scheduled a temporary road closure on existing Old McCullers Road from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M. south of Ten Ten Road and north of where Old McCullers Road turns at Advantage Way, near Wake Technical Community College – Southern Wake Campus. The purpose of the closure is for bridge construction along N.C. 540 over Old McCullers Road. This work is weather dependent. Road closure and detour signs will be installed.
Drivers should plan to take the detour route by following signs along the roadway, taking Ten Ten Road west to Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401), south on Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401) to Wake Tech Way, and then east on Wake Tech Way across the Wake Tech campus. The reverse will be used for detouring traffic in the opposite direction. Access to properties along Old McCullers Road will be maintained throughout the scheduled closure.
Drivers should use caution and slow down while traveling through the work zones and detour routes.
