WINSTON-SALEM – Starting this weekend, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will have several nightly closures for the ongoing improvement project along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County, weather permitting.
The following nightly lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- On Dec. 5-6, two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 East from Hanes Mall Boulevard to Peters Creek Parkway.
- On Dec. 5-9, two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 West from west of Peters Creek Parkway to Stratford Road.
The following closures are scheduled from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning:
- On Dec. 7, one of two lanes will be closed in both directions on the N.C. 66 bridge over I-40.
- On Dec. 8, two of three lanes on Union Cross Road will be closed on the southbound bridge over I-40.
On Dec. 6, the ramp from Peters Creek Parkway onto I-40 West will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. with a
signed detour.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
