Closures Planned Along I-40 in Forsyth County

​WINSTON-SALEM – Starting tonight, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will have several nightly closures for the ongoing improvement project along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County into the following week, weather permitting.

The following lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:

  • Tonight, one of three lanes will be closed on I-40 West from west of Peters Creek Parkway to west of Stratford Road.
  • Nov. 7-11, two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 East from east of Hanes Mall Boulevard to east of Peters Creek Parkway.

The ramp from I-40 West to Peters Creek Parkway will be closed with a signed detour from 9 tonight until 11 a.m. Nov. 7.

The ramp from Hanes Mall Boulevard to I-40 East will be closed with a signed detour from 9 tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow.

Tonight and Nov. 7-9, the ramp from Stratford Road to I-40 West will be closed nightly with a signed detour from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. The ramp will be reopened to traffic each morning, but the right lane will remain closed. The single-lane configuration will remain in place until Nov. 12.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
