23 Miles of Roads in Currituck County to get Pavement Improvements

MOYOCK – Motorists in several areas of Currituck County will soon ride on smoother roads thanks to a $3.9 million contract recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.

The contract, awarded to Rose Brothers Paving Company of Raleigh, covers milling, resurfacing, shoulder reconstruction and guardrail replacement on more than 23 miles of roadway in Currituck County, including more than five miles of the marsh causeway leading from the Virginia state line to Knotts Island. Among the secondary roads included in the contract are South Mills Road in Moyock, Brumley Road in Knotts Island, and Bayview Drive in Aydlett.

Work on the project will start as early as next spring and is scheduled to be completed by the winter of 2023.
