RALEIGH — As part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to close a ramp at the Wade Avenue interchange overnight.
The loop from westbound Wade Avenue to I-440 West will close tonight from midnight until 5 a.m. tomorrow to allow crews to place the girders on the future westbound Wade Avenue bridge over the beltline.
Drivers will follow a detour to Blue Ridge Road to turn around and then access I-440 West.
Motorists should allow extra time to navigate the detour and slow down and pay attention throughout the work zone.
