RURAL HALL – Improvements to Memorial Industrial School Road in Forsyth County will be completed a week ahead of schedule.
Contract crews for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to reopen Memorial Industrial School Road near N.C. 8 by Friday. The original completion date was Aug. 6. They closed it May 27 to construct a new retaining wall, do road surface repairs and install guardrail.
“This is an important road for citizens in this area and we are glad the project was completed early,” said Division Engineer Pat Ivey.
The road has been closed since February 2020 after it was damaged by flooding from Trick-Um Creek. It will be reopened to traffic by Friday once the final markings have been installed.
