RALEIGH – A project to improve the pavement along nearly 11 miles of Randolph County roads is moving forward.
The N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a $1.5 million contract to the Thompson Arthur division of APAC Atlantic Inc. to revamp the following sections of secondary roads:
- East Central Avenue from U.S. 220 Business to Old Liberty Road
- Brown Oaks Road from Naomi Road to New Salem Road
- Finch Farm Road from near Tabernacle Church Road to near Thayer Road
- New Hope Road from N.C. 49 to the Montgomery County line
The work can begin July 26 and is scheduled for completion in June 2022. It will take place under lane closures, so drivers should watch for crews working near the travel lanes until work concludes at these locations.
