GOLD HILL – A section of a Rowan County road is scheduled to close next week while a culvert that runs under it is replaced.
Reeves Island Road is set to close just south of Old Beatty Ford Road from 8 a.m. June 7 through 3:30 p.m. June 11.
The existing structure has failed, and its replacement is essential to ensure stormwater passes under the road properly, preventing damage to the road and nearby properties.
A signed detour will direct traffic to follow Old Beatty Ford, Stokes Ferry, Richfield and Goodman roads to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should watch for crews working in this area and factor the detour into their travel time.
