WINSTON-SALEM – The contractor for the Interstate 40 pavement rehabilitation and bridge preservation project in Forsyth County has planned several lane closures over the next week.
Weather permitting, the following nighttime lane closures are scheduled for June 6-10 from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. so crews can conduct the work safely.
- Two of three lanes of I-40 West are set to close from Main Street (mile marker 193) to just west of Stratford Road (mile marker 188.5) and from just west of Jonestown Road (mile marker 186) to the bridges over Muddy Creek (mile marker 185).
- One of two lanes is set to close in each direction of Hanes Mall Boulevard near the I-40 interchange.
Drivers should obey posted signage in the work zones and be mindful of crews working close to the travel lanes in these areas.
