MEBANE – State transportation contractors plan to shift traffic this week as part of the N.C. 119 Bypass project in Mebane.
Traffic is scheduled to shift between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday at the following locations:
- N.C. 119 Bypass between Holmes Road and new Fifth Street. Northbound traffic will utilize new northbound lanes.
- N.C. 119 Bypass between new Third Street and new Fifth Street. All traffic will shift onto the new southbound lanes.
These shifts will create new connections between the local roads and N.C. 119 and provide additional lanes just north of the interchange with Interstate 40.
Message boards and signs will be in place to help alert traffic of the new traffic patterns. Drivers should be mindful of crews at work in this area.
