Repaving Project Coming to Johnston County

SELMA – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will start Monday, July 22, milling and resurfacing N.C. 39 between N.C. 42 and the town of Selma in Johnston County.

The work along the 8.5-mile stretch of highway will be done in the daytime, Monday through Friday, and is expected to take about three weeks to finish.

Drivers can expect to encounter flagging operations when sections of the two-lane highway are reduced to one lane for the construction. Drivers should slow down and be alert for crews and their equipment in the work zone.

This project is part of a larger resurfacing contract NCDOT awarded earlier this year, covering 44 miles of roadway in Johnston County. The contractor has until July 2020 to complete all of the work.
