RALEIGH – Transportation Secretary Jim Trogdon named
James J. "J.J." Eden as the new executive director of the North Carolina Turnpike Authority, citing his industry experience and commitment to innovation.
Eden has more than 40 years of experience in the tolling industry, previously serving as Vice President/Director of the Tolling & Managed Lanes Division at AECOM. He also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance for Toll Interoperability, a non-profit.
From 2006 to 2010, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of the North Carolina Turnpike Authority. Eden was also a founder of the Interagency Group, better known for the E-ZPass system, which has since become the industry standard in North American toll collecting for bridges, tunnel, and turnpikes throughout the Northeast, Midwest, Alaska and Hawaii.
Eden begins his new role May 6.
