I-277 Lane Closures Continue This Week

CHARLOTTE – Starting tonight at 9 p.m., N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will continue a $16.3 million project to improve 22 bridges on Interstate 277, focusing on the Outer Loop between South Boulevard and E. Fourth Street.

Setting up the work zone will require lane closures tonight and Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Once a barrier wall is in place Wednesday night, the closure will allow crews to continue concrete slab and overlay work on the McDowell and East Stonewall Street bridges.

Two travel lanes will be open to traffic. The contractor will be working in this area until lane restrictions take effect for the Memorial Day holiday.
