SANFORD – To enhance customer service, the Sanford Driver License office will undergo office and waiting area upgrades this week. They include adding two additional examiner work stations and a redesign of the customer waiting area.
The equipment installation and renovations work will require the closure of the office, located at 2210 Carthage Street, on Friday, April 26 and Monday, April 29. It is scheduled to re-open on Tuesday, April 30, at 8 a.m.
During the renovations, to assist customers a DMV driver license mobile unit will be at the location both days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be able to provide all driver license and REAL ID services, including road skills testing (weather permitting).
DMV also offers driver license and REAL ID renewals, as well as many other services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official DMV website at MyNCDMV.gov to see if their driver license needs can be met online.
During the Sanford office closure, customers may also visit other license offices located in the region and may call the numbers below, or contact the DMV Call Center at 919-715-7000, to make an appointment:
