Fourteen New Driver License Examiners to Help Improve Service at DMV Offices

​DMV's latest group of driver license e​xaminers graduated from basic school Friday in Raleigh.

RALEIGH – As part of the effort to improve customer service at driver license offices statewide, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will add 14 new driver license examiner graduates to 11 offices next week. 

The new employees graduated Friday from the DMV’s Basic Examiner Training School and will start work on Monday.

DMV is working to improve customer service with more examiners, express lines, dedicated road test teams and the use of customer service representatives to help people in line make sure they have the appropriate documents. 

The examiners graduated after four weeks of intensive classroom study at the N.C. Justice Academy in Salemburg. They will take applications for learner permits, driver licenses, REAL ID and basic identification cards using modernized systems that create counterfeit-proof documents that protect against identity theft. They will also conduct road tests for new drivers.

“We are excited to have these 14 new driver license examiners to better serve people of throughout North Carolina,” said DMV Assistant Field Services Director Robert Quinn.  “They are part of a team of over 550 driver license examiners who provide driving privileges and identity protection to nearly 9,000 customers per day.”

The new examiners and their duty stations are: John Beducian, Nags Head; Kellie Beeson, Jacksonville; Dennis Brigman, Letecia Williams, Wilmington South; Kenneth Campbell, LaNivea Davis, New Bern; Trina Durand, Henderson; Kimberly Ingram, Raleigh West; Tracey Jordan, Oxford; Bric’na Melton, Fuquay-Varina; Angela Ritch, Tamitha Williams, Hickory; Corey Shott, Aberdeen; Jennifer Vanesky, Greenville.
